Instructions

1. Log in to the servera machine as the student user.

   [student@workstation ~]$ ssh student@servera
   Warning: Permanently added 'servera' (ED25519) to the list of known hosts.
   Activate the web console with: systemctl enable --now cockpit.socket

2. Start the cockpit service.

   [student@servera ~]$ systemctl start cockpit.socket

   Password: student

3. Verify the status of the cockpit service.

   [student@servera ~]$ systemctl status cockpit.socket

        Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/cockpit.socket; disabled; vendor preset: disabled)

4. Return to the workstation machine as the student user.

   [student@servera ~]$ exit
   logout
   Connection to servera closed.
   [student@workstation ~]$

5. On the workstation machine, open the Firefox web browser and log in to the web console interface that is running at the servera.lab.example.com address. Log in as the student user with student as the password.

   1. Open the Firefox web browser and go to the https://servera.lab.example.com:9090 address.

   2. When prompted, accept the self-signed certificate by adding it as an exception.

   3. Log in as the student user with student as the password.

   4. Click the Limited access button to switch to administrative access. Use student as the student user's password and click the Authenticate button. The web console replaces the Limited access button with the Administrative access button.

   5. Click the Diagnostic Reports menu on the left navigation bar. Click the Run report button.

   6. Enter student in the Report label field.

   7. Click Run report. The report takes a few minutes to build.

6. When the report is ready, download the file.

   1. Click the Download button. The diagnostic report is downloaded.

   2. Log out from the web console session and close the Firefox web browser.
