Developing Event-Driven Applications with Apache Kafka and Red Hat AMQ Streams (AD482) is a course for application developers to design, develop, secure, and troubleshoot event-driven applications. This course is based on Red Hat AMQ Streams 1.8 and Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 4.6.

Course Objectives

  • Designing and developing event-driven applications using Kafka and Red Hat AMQ Streams.

  • This course prepares the student to take the Red Hat Certified Specialist in Event-Driven Development with Kafka exam (EX482).

Audience

  • Application developers with microservice development experience.

Prerequisites

  • Experience with microservice application development and design is required.

  • The course Red Hat Cloud-native Microservices Development with Quarkus (DO378) is strongly recommended, but not required.

  • The course OpenShift or Introduction to OpenShift Applications (DO101) is strongly recommended, but not required.

  • Be proficient in using an IDE such as Red Hat Developer Studio or VSCode.
